> (09.20.2008) NOEL TUCKER SCORES NUMBER EIGHT AT FMS...
Elkin, NC (09.20.2008) - For the seventeenth time this 2008 season the ASA Sanctioned Friendship Motor Speedway was back at it for good times and great racing once again as the weather would be perfect for a great championship showdown in each and every division. This night would also show to be a new record total car count for a regular weekly racing event, please note that we at Friendship appreciate each and every one that has supported us this season. Thank you so very much, it would not be possible without great fans, drivers, crews, and familes like yours. This week featured all four of our regular divisions which are known as the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Models, Basic Finance Super Streets, Coffee House Four Cylinders, and the Southeastern Cars & Parts U-Car division.

In the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Model event, a visitor in Steven Atkins, Jr. would claim quick time and a one hundred dollar bonus from FASTRAK Racing for the pole award. Winky McGee would kick things off from the outside front row. Noel Tucker who would start third would be the man to beat once again this year. Going for his eighth win of the season Noel Tucker would get the victory as he would roll into the Neighbors Stores/100.9 WIFM Victory Lane. Robbie Stevens would show to be strong once again as he would hang on to second over Keith Holder in third. Chase McCormick and John Eller would round out the top five. Tony Hicks would come up just a few points short in his championship efforts as Chris Cheek would hold on to claim the first GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Model Championship since going back to dirt this 2008 season.

In the Basic Finance Super Street event, Jimmy Watson and Jeff Parsons would get things started up front. Jimmy Watson would have trouble early and fall back to the rear. Jeff Parsons who has been ever so close all year long would finally go on to score win number one during the last points race of the year. Daniel Moss would bring it home second while just not gaining enough points over Andy Mathis in third who would go on to score the Super Street Championship. Grayland Wagoner would finish fourth with Tony Lowe coming home fifth.

In the Coffee House Four Cylinder event, Matthew Warden and Tommy Zachary would roll off the starting grid on the front row. They would finish just opposite of that as Tommy Zachary would roll up win number five with Matthew Warden a strong second. Dale Barneycastle would finish a respectable third. Justin Hudspeth would claim fourth with the ever consistant Sandy Martin would roll up his fourteenth out of fifteen top five this 2008 season, very impressive. Billy Robbins would finish eighth and still hold on to enough points over Martin to claim his track championship.

In the Southeastern Cars & Parts U-Car feature event, Boo Boo Dalton would return to Friendship to show his muscle as he would claim his second win of the year while only running a partial schedule. Kenny Sapp would start up front and fall to second for the finish. Barry Wilson would also have a pretty good run once again as he would finish third. Jake Eaton and Tyler Sidden would round out the top five. Matthew Barker would finish seventh and still claim enough points to hold off Sidden to be crowned the division champion for the 2008 season. This dvision would also claim a record car count with a total of 22 cars.

Congrats to this weeks feature winners and thanks to all the dirt racing fans, drivers, and crewmen for your support as we head into the eighteenth event of the 2008 racing season on September 27th. Coming up for our next event will be all four of our regular divisions known as the GM Direct Automotive Crate Late Models, Basic Finance Super Street, Coffee House Four Cylinders, and the Southeastern Cars & Parts U-Car division.
