> (05.23.2009) JUSTIN LINEMAN NABS VICTORY AT FRIENDSHIP...
(05.23.2009) Elkin, North Carolina - For the seventh event of the 2009 season, the ASA sanctioned Friendship Motor Speedway was back at it for a fantastic night of racing thirlls on the four-tenth dirt oval. The weather was great early but a short shower would come late, after it was all said and done all the events would be complete. This week featured a special appearance for the first time this year by the Micro-Sprint cars along with four of our regular divisions which are known as the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman, Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8, and the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car division.

In the Special Micro-Sprint event, to get things started a special "Lets Go Nuts Racing" Dash for $100.00 would kick things off as Rick Goss from Charlotte, North Carolina would start up front to take the win after leading all eight laps. Goss would have his work cut out for him in the twenty five lap feature event as Terry Peters from Concord, North Carolina would sprint to the front to lead most of the event. With just a few laps to go on the last restart Peters would look to have trouble getting up to speed while Justin Lineman of Linwood, North Carolina in the Lineman Lawncare machine would shoot out to the lead for the first time and would nab the victory after only leading the last couple laps. Rick Goss would make it a great night after winning the dash to bring it home in second for the feature. Jesse Burton from Mount Airy, North Carolina would pick up third with Barry Belcher returning to Friendship to finish fourth. Terry Peters would end up having a disapointing night at the end while rounding out the top five.

In the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman race, Roaring River, North Carolina's "Flyin" Brian Nance would return to this division in style and just where he left off years ago and that would be right up front and looking for the win. Nance would look to have them covered but with just a handful of laps to go Nance would get caught up with another car and collect the inside wall ending his great run. Daniel Moss of Elk Creek, Virginia would be not far behind Nance all night long and it would pay off after Nance had problems as he would score win number two this year while adding to his point totals in his effort to catch Jeff Parsons for the points lead. Richard Clew would come home with a impressive second place run with Joel Bray in third after falling back early. Jeff Parsons and Peewee Turner would finish fourth and fifth.

In the Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, Justin Hudspeth of Rhonda, North Carolina would have the car to beat early on in the event. Hudspeth would end up having what appeared to be a overheating issue and would take it to the pits for the night. Evan Benton would battle Robbie Brown for the race win with Evan Benton of Davidson, North Carolina scoring win number three of the season. Robbie Brown would finish a strong second while also picking up the ADA Motel of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina $150.00 bonus for the best average finish between Rolling Thunder Raceway on Friday night and Friendship Motor Speedway on Saturday night. Steve Faw would have a great run while finishing third. The Dirtdawg Jerry Cook would return to pick up fourth place. Toby Jones would round out your top five.

In the JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8 division, Mickey Anderson of Satesville, North Carolina would pick up his second win of the year after holding off a strong late race run from points leader Jeff Parsons who would finish second. Fabian Anderson would finish third. Desi Olson would have his best run of the year in fourth with Tony Parsons in fifth.

In the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car feature, Brett Myers from Statesville, North Carolina would bring out the new car this week and put it in victory lane for his third win of the year. Brittin Settle would make a run for it but would come up just a little short in second. Points leader Stephanie Clew would finish third after rebounding from a heat race incident. Sean Myers would claim fourth with fifth going to Austin Caudle. The Myers Racing duo would dedicate this win and the money to the Joanie Holland family. Joanie was a three year old girl who passed away unexpectedly just a few days ago. From the Myers Family and all of us at Friendship Motor Speedway, our thoughts and prayers go out to you.
