> (09.12.2009) NOEL TUCKER CAPTURES EMOTIONAL FMS WIN...
(09.12.2009) Elkin, North Carolina - Event number twenty-two would be underway as Friendship Motor Speedway was the place to be as the the weather would be just right and the track would be a true delight with side by side racing all through the night at the four-tenth mile dirt bullring. This week featured a regular weekly championship night of racing action with all five divisions known as the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Models, Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman, Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8, and the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car division.

In the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Model event, Jimmy Watson would be at the top of the chart after two lap time trials this week would set the field with the "Wilkes County Weapon" Chris Cheek starting from the outside front row. As the green would fly it would be Watson leading early with Cheek in tow. Justin Hudspeth who started third would have a mirror full of Pilot Mountian's Noel Tucker. Tucker would finally get by Hudspeth and make his sight set on the leaders. As laps would wind down Noel Tucker would catch and get by a back sliding Chris Cheek. Tucker would then bring his machine to the front after a hard fault battle with race leader Jimmy Watson. "The Franklin Flash" Noel Tucker would claim a very emotional victory as he would dedicate this win to his father Jesse Tucker who recently passed away. Jimmy Watson would hold on to second while Chris Cheek would end up third. Brian Carswell would sneak up to fourth with Andrew Durham rounding out the top five. Points leader Kent Peckham would not have the night he was looking for as he would finish in seventh while still retaining a confortable points lead over Winky McGee who finished sixth.

In the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman race, Richard Clew would go to the front this week and make it look easy until late in the run when Jeff Parsons who would start dead last would make a hard charging run to the front only to find himself out of laps at the end. "The Twister" Richard Clew of Harmony would take down the win with Jeff Parsons a strong second while gaining a few more points over third place Daniel Moss who is battling Parsons for the championship. Fourth would go to Grayland Wagoner with fifth place to Tony Lowe driving "Thumper".

In the Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, Chris Hudspeth who would lead every lap last week only to find himself spining off the last turn and loosing the win would go to the front again this week and finally make it work pulling out the big first win and getting that ole monkey off his back to take down a late birthday win. Junior Welborn would return this week to finish a strong second with Sandy Martin in third. Fourth would go to Toby Jones while Kevin Atwell would pick up some much needed championship points while finishing fifth. Current points leader Billy Robbins would have mechanical problems in the heat race and would be unable to start the feature event.

In the JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8 division, Keith Clonch and Jeff Parsons would put on one heck of a show as these two power houses would race door to door for the entire race only to find a one foot difference at the finish line with Roaring River's Keith Clonch taking down the checkers while doing some of the best burnouts in dirt track racing. Jeff Parsons would finish second while adding just a few more points to his lead over Jason Donahue who would claim third. Fourth would be Fabian Anderson with Lee Barnett in fifth.

In the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car feature, Points leader Brett Myers would pick up back to back wins this week while adding to his points totals. Britton Settle would make a late race entry while starting from the rear to make his move all the way up to second on the last lap past Matthew Nance who would fall back to finish third. Trent Turner would get fourth while championship contender Stephanie Clew would still not have the best night while grabbing the final top five spot.
