(10.03.2009) Elkin, North Carolina - The four-tenth mile dirt bullring would finally be back at it after a couple weeks of bad weather. This would be event number twenty-three on the 2009 calender as Friendship Motor Speedway would be the place to be this past Saturday night as the 2009 champions would be crowned on a special final points night. This week featured a regular weekly championship night of racing action with all five divisions known as the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Models, Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman, Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8, and the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car division.

In the GM Direct Automotive NDRA Pro Late Model event, Jimmy Watson would be at the top of the chart one again after two lap time trials this week would set the field with "Little Mac" Chase McCormick to start from the outside front row. On the start it would be McCormick out to a early lead with Winky McGee in tow. After a hard fault battle it would be "The Bounty Hunter" Winky McGee getting out front of McCromick. McGee would be able to charge to victory this week after holding off a late race charge by Justin Hudspeth who would finish second. Chris Cheek would take down third with Keith Holder in fourth. Chase McCormick would have a disapointing night while rounding out the top five. "Kool" Kent Peckham of Statesville would be crowned the 2009 division champion while holding off Winky McGee in the final standings.

In the Southeastern Cars & Parts Limited Sportsman race, "Flyin" Brian Nance of Ronda would return this week after getting his mechanical woes worked out to pick up a big win. Richard Clew would make a late race charge from the rear of the field to second but would just not have the muscle to run down Brian Nance. Clew ould finish in second while Daniel Moss would put up a hard fought fight in third. Jeff Parsons of Union Grove would take down fourth and the 2009 division championship over Daniel Moss. Shawn Robinson would round out the top five finishers.

In the Coffee House Waffle Shop Four Cylinders, Trent Chatham would return this week to pick up his second win of the year. Chris Hudspeth would give him a run for his money but just wouldn't be able to get it done this week as he would settle for second. Third would go to Junior Welborn finishing just ahead of Kevin Atwell in fourth. Billy Robbins would pick up fifth and back to back division championships while beating out Kevin Atwell in the points.

In the JC Racing & Fabrication Renegade V-8 division, Derek Mastin would come back in style this week as he would claim win number seven of the season. Jason Donahue would have a great run this week while finishing in second not only in the race but also in the points battle. Steve Tautges would debut this week at Friendship to finish in third over the 2009 division champion Jeff Parsons who would pick up a special two championships in the same night. "Pinkie" Lee Barnett would round out the top five finishers of the race.

In the Hill Top Trading Post Donald's Automotive U-Car feature, a big night would be in store for Brett Myers as he would not only take down the feature win but also a well earned 2009 division championship. Britton Settle would settle for second while Austin Caudle would find himself in third. Stephanie Clew would finish fourth and second in the points championship after leading the way for the majority of the year. Richard Reeves would claim fifth on the finishing grid.
